Designed with a view to the future, GRIGLIA borrows from the simplicity and beauty found in the texture of a weave and reinterprets this into a directional collection of hand-knotted rugs.
The warp and weft of the loom are the basis for an improvisation in directional shapes, textures and chromatics. Grids are transformed, convoluted and overlaid, enhancing the visual appreciation and guiding the eye through space. Colours reveal graduations of hue, harmonic spectrums and symmetries of light and shade.
Natural hemp is paired with a neutral wool to create the base grid of this rug. A pastel palette comprising hues of blue, green, lilac and blush forms the linework offset at a 90 degree angle to the base within this design. With line work conceived in 2 layers loop pile and raised art-silk this rug has a dynamic movement.
A soft hued fringe detail with sporadic coloured details adds gentle complexity to this rug.
